Benue Links Nigeria Limited Recieves Commendation From The Nigerian Union Of Journalists (NUJ), Benue State Council

Benue Links Nigeria Limited has been commended by the Benue State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) for its significant contributions to the transport sector in the state. The commendation was given during a courtesy visit by the NUJ State Executives, led by the State Chairman, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, to the company’s corporate headquarters in Makurdi on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Speaking during the visit, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber praised the company’s management for its commitment to improving transportation services in Benue State.
He highlighted several key achievements, including, upgrade of the bus terminus in Makurdi to international standards, acquisition of permanent parks for the company in various towns across the country, introduction of haulage services, refurbishment of moribund Marco polo buses and her subsequent deployment to intervene in the intra city transport services, successful implementation of the transport fare reduction policy of the Governor Alia administration, implementation of #75,000 minimum wage for workers, successful employment of the youths, amongst others.

Comrade Ugber emphasized that these achievements align with the vision of the Executive Governor of Benue State and contribute to the overall development of the transport sector.

Responding on behalf of the company, the General Manager of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Comrade Alexander Aondohemba Fanafa KSM MNIM, expressed gratitude for the NUJ’s recognition. He reaffirmed the company's commitment to providing safe, reliable, comfortable, and affordable transportation services. He also acknowledged the support of the Executive Governor of Benue State, which has enabled the company’s progress.

Furthermore, Comrade Fanafa pledged to maintain a strong partnership with the NUJ to ensure transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery.

In a vote of thanks, Mr. Cornelius Ebute, Manager of Planning, Research, and Statistics at Benue Links, appreciated the NUJ officials for their visit and commendations. He expressed optimism that the collaboration between both organizations would yield positive results.

On the same day, the management of Benue Links Nigeria Limited also received a delegation from TYEM MIONGO, a Benue-based socio-cultural group focused on promoting peace and non-violent conflict resolution. Discussions centered on issues of unity, peace promotion, conflict resolution, and capacity building.
