The presidency has dissociated itself from the #iStandWithBuhari organisation, a political group who is planning a 9 million man march to further acquaint Nigerians with the policies of the Buhari government and drum support for the president.
This was contained in a series of tweet by @NGRPresident, the official twitter handle from the office of the president on Friday.
The group has recently been hit with credibility issues following the resignation of two of its National Coordinators within a spcae of one month.
It has also faced criticism from the Nigerian public who feel that a march at a time Nigerians are passing through hardship is a needless venture.
According to the @NGRPresident twitter account:
It called on the #iStandWithBuhari group to stop stop dropping the name of the President’s wife, @aishambuhari, to promote its activities.
