The controversially ousted chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as early as 7am on Monday stormed the National Secretariat of the opposition party to take over the affairs of the party, but was prevented from gaining entrance to the Wadata Plaza secretariat by security operatives, News Punch has learnt.
Sheriff, who led his supporters to the PDP headquarters, told journalists that he would not leave until he is allowed entrance into the secretariat.
It would be recalled that the former Borno governor was the party’s chairman before the party’s national convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on May 21.
