Contrary to claims that series of meetings have been held at Senator Aliyu Wamakko, the immediate past former Sokoto State Governor's house to allegedly plan and fast-track how to impeach President Muhammadu, Wamakko has said the reports were untrue.
Wamakko said the series of meetings held in his residence were to find amicable solution to the frosty relationship between the Executive and Legislature, not to discuss the impeachment of Buhari, The Daily Sun reports
“As a principled politician, I have no cause to scheme against the president and the party I campaigned for or the cause I believe in. Let me once again reiterate that we hold the president in high esteem, and we will do our best towards ensuring that there is cordial relationship and harmony between the two arms of government,” he said in a statement.
Some diehard supporters of the embattled President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki reportedly held a secret meeting at the Abuja resident of the former Sokoto State Governor's house. The meeting which was alleged to be on how to strategize the impeachment move against Buhari.
Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has reacted to the threat to impeach President Muhammdu Buhari.
The party in a state signed by its national secretary, Mr. Mai Mala Buni described the threat of the impeachment as laughable and huge joke taken too far.
In the statement, the APC advised the Senators involved to “stop this huge joke and concentrate on their primary constitutional responsibilities of lawmaking and discharging of their legislative mandates to their constituents at the National Assembly.”
The APC scribe who was reacting to alleged threat to begin impeachment process against Buhari during an executive session of the senate said the ruling party would not to join issues on the Senate forgery suit and other court cases concerning some members of the eighth Senate because it would be sub judice.

While advising the Senators involved in the impeachment plot to allow judicial processes run its normal and legitimate course, Buni said the allegations that the court cases were politically-motivated by Buhari and the APC were baseless.
The APC scribe that the Buhari administration strictly respects the principle of the Rule of Law and also adheres to the constitutional provisions of Separation of Power between the three arms of government, the statement urged the president and the entire cabinet to remain focused in their effort to deliver on election promises and to steer the nation to its deserved heights.
