Just In: Controversy As Buhari Replaces Minister
At the wake of the just concluded Ministerial Retreat, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari, has concluded plans to replace the late Minister of State for Labour and Employment, James Ocholi, Post-Nigeria gathered.

Presidential sources confirmed to Post-Nigeria, that President Buhari has finally settled for a renowned politician from Kogi-West Senatorial District.

He is said to be a highly skilled and erudite professional, with many years of experience, both in the public and private sector.

This came barely few weeks when the Elders from the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, noted the importance of filling the vacant position, created as a result of the demise of the late Minister.

Recall, that Ocholi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, who represented Kogi State in the Federal Executive Council, FEC, died on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway, alongside his wife, and second son, on March 6, 2016, in what was believed to be an accident caused by a burst tyre.

The Kogi Elders had stated that, since the late Ocholi was of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, it will only be fair that the slot is retained by the CPC faction, of the APC in the State.

They however, warned the President not to appoint someone who is not a member of the legacy parties that formed the APC in Kogi State, as Ocholi’s replacement.

“Since James Ocholi, of blessed memory was only few months into his tenure, it is only fair, that his slot goes back to the CPC,” the Elders said.

Furthermore, the Kogi Elders, listed three nominees from which Buhari should choose the replacement, among whom are: Alhaji Idris M. Usman, State Coordinator, Buhari Solidarity Organisation, BSO, who they said has been in the opposition for the past 17 years; Mallam Ahmed Kokoli; and Hon Jibril Yusuf.

However, investigations revealed that Buhari is trading softly in the replacement of Ocholi, in order not to create any intra-party crisis.

Aside the names been listed by the Elders, Some Kogi politicians have already been tipped to replace the Late Ocholi. They include: Sani Halilu Shuaibu, Suleman Baba Ali, Muhammad Abdullahi, Senator Nuruddeen Abatemi Usman, and Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim.
