Premium Times - Former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Tunde Rahman as his new media adviser.
He replaced Sunday Dare, who was in August appointed a National Commissioner for Stakeholders Engagement in the National Communication Commission, NCC.
Mr. Rahman, who hails from Iwo in Osun State, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES on Monday that he had since assumed duty.
Until his appointment, Mr. Rahman was the publisher of WESTERN POST, a regional newspaper, which covered the defunct Western region, comprising Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Ekiti, Lagos, Delta and Edo States.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a Master of Science Degree in Communication Studies. He also attended course at the Lagos Business School. Mr. Rahman began his journalism career in 1989 as Political Correspondent of Lagos Horizon, a community newspaper, and later moved to the old Daily Times where he rose to position of Political Editor.
He later moved to the Punch newspapers as the News Editor/Assistant Editor at its Abuja office and then Group News Editor at its headquarters in Lagos. He quit the Punch in 2004 to join THISDAY as Deputy Editor of the Sunday title, during which he pioneered the political arm of the paper called CICERO.
Mr. Rahman later became the Deputy Editor of the daily newspaper and then the Editor of the Saturday and Sunday titles. He resigned from THISDAY to float the WESTERN POST newspaper.
