The nation’s apex court, Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the election of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.
The panel of justices led by Tanko Ibrahim affirmed the judgments of the Bayelsa State Election Petitions Tribunal and the appellate court.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in he election, Timipre Sylva, had challenged the victory of Dickson, alleging that the election was marred with irregularities.
Sylva asked the tribunal to declare him the duly elected governor.
But having lost at the tribunal and appellate court, Sylva headed for the apex court.
