The Nigeria Football Supporters' Club will tomorrow, saturday, December 10th, 2016, at the media centre of the Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos, hold its much talked about election into various positions.
According to the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Ademola Ariyibi, all processes leading to the election have been concluded. The last being the Manifesto night that will feature all the contestants comes up today (Friday) at the club's headquaters in Surulere, Lagos.
"All is now set for the election to hold tomorrow at the Teslim Balogun stadium, in Lagos. We are surely going to elect new officers to make our illustrious club forward, "he said.
In another remark, the Deputy President - General of the NFSC, Alhaji Adenrele Yusuf, debunked media reports that the election will take place in Abuja and under the auspices of the NFF and the sports ministry.
" Let every genuinely concerned Nigerians know that the Nigeria Football Supporters Club is a duly registered and globally recognised club. Therefore, we are independent and not under the controls of NFF. Our election holds tomorrow in Lagos, and there is no change in that. We are only partners with the NFF in the progress and development of Nigerian football, " Yusuf stated.
In the same vein, His Royal Majesty and Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom in Delta State, King Otadeferu Ododo, has also thrown his weight behind the NFSC election. The royal father who was an active member of the supporters club before his coronation, breezed into Lagos on Thursday evening, told the press that he is in Lagos to lend his support and blessings to the election.
"I am in Lagos to give my royal support and blessings to the election of the supporters' club. This election will mark the beginning of a new and positive dawn for this great club, " he enthused confidently.
