The Christian community of the Nigeria Television Authority ( NTA) Network centre, Lagos popularly known as NTA 2 has hosted the annual event of Service of Nine Lessons and Christmas Carol at the Ahmadu Bello way, Victoria Island, Lagos, office.
With the Theme ‘Fear Not for Behold I Bring Good Tidings of Great Joy Which Be To All People’ ( Luke 2,verses 10), Bishop Olanrewaju Obembe was the guest speaker, while Pastor Olujimi Gansallo and Pastor Banji Oluwalana took charge as the hosting pastors respectively.
Mr. Chidi Uluka, The Zonal Director, NTA 2, Lagos called on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ who came to rescue people from perishing.
He also expressed that the purpose of Christmas is to show love to the needy and put in mind the need to do good and be kind to our neigbours.
“We need to be good to whoever comes our way because this is one of the basic reasons for living. We should also re-dedicate ourselves to the tenents of Christianity. We should also take it easy because whatever is difficult today will surely be easier tomorrow. My prayer is that may we have victory over victory and success after success. But on a serious note, the birth of Jesus Christ calls for a sober reflection, taking a look at how he gave his life to us in order for us to be saved” Uluka concluded.
The Presiding Pastor of NTA 2 Network center, Pastor Olujimi Gansallo who has spent 15 years in the station before taking over the mantle of leadership from Pastor Banji Oluwalna, he called on Nigerians to move closer to God and remember that what we need now is how to move the nation forward with total dedication from all angles.
“That we were able to put this event together at a short notice shows that God is able in everything. If we focus our mind on the need to move closer to him and obey his commandments, he will surely surpass our needs when least expected. Nigeria belongs to all of us hence the need to be more loyal to her” Gansallo opined.
Barrister Seni Ibiwoye admonished Christians to embrace peace, unity and harmony which to him will put Nigeria better in her rightful place.
Pastor Banji Oluwalana harped on the theme of the event and enjoined the congregation that whoever put his or her hope in God will never go astray.
