There is confusion as the body of Doctor Allwell Orji who committed suicide by jumping off the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos into a Lagoon has been discovered by the Marine Police.
Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) had on Sunday said it received a distress call on the incident.
The agency said the medical practitioner parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV with registration number LND 476 EE at about 4.50 pm before Adekunle, inward 3rd Mainland bridge and jumped into the Lagos Lagoon.
LASEMA General Manager, Adesina Tiamiyu, assured that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.
But the mother of Dr. Allwell Orji, who jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, said the body recovered by marine policemen was not that of her son.
The spokesperson for the Zone 2 Police Command, SP Dolapo Badmos said, “The mother has come to identify the body recovered, but she said the deceased was not her son.”
