ENDO WALK 2017(Lagos) had triple in its attendance this year, against its last year’s participating audience.
Unlike last year’s event which started with a few rain drops, and later stopped after 30 minutes; 2017 event was more friendly and fun-filled as the cloudy weather heralding the day became friendlier. The momentum was great!
As early as 6:AM, participants ranging from the major stakeholders, students, different groups of professionals, Media etc, were trooping in to collect their kits and set for the day. On the ground was the Diamond Bank of Nigeria who was one of the key sponsors of the event.
In his tradition of promoting Endometriosis in Nigeria and making its education, awareness and treatment known across all hemispheres in Nigeria, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, the chief executive officer of Nordica fertility centre Lagos, which is affiliated to Nordica Denmark and his wife, Tola, amongst other ‘ Endo’ educators were on ground to lead the train.
Taking off from The City Mall at Onikan, in the heart center of Lagos, towards Falomo; en route Ozumba Mbadiwe Highway and finally stopped at Muri Okunola garden, where the face to face on ENDO education came alive in full; the sight of the yellow and purple colour ‘T’ shirts were a sight to behold. The Black "T' Shirts of those from Diamond Bank's angle serenade the atmosphere. Drinks and snacks were served. Networking opportunities were encouraged.
Dr. Abayomi Ajayi and chief representative of Diamond Bank at the event, Aisha Ahmad who is a mother of two and a great orator spoke with those who wanted to know more about the event. Aisha also dwelt on why Diamond was interested in the programe, as well as the bank’s empowerment programmes for the women-folks.
Prior to the 11th March 2017 event in Lagos, a similar one was held by the Ajayi led team in Abuja, the Federal Capital territory. A dinner with lots of dignitaries capped the event on the 13th March, 2017 in Lagos, respectively.
