Confusion As Amaechi Linked As The Owner of The $50m Found By EFCC At Lagos House

ROTIMI AMAECHI LINKED WITH $50 MILLION STOLEN
More controversies have continued to surround  the $50 million found by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission at the Lagos apartment linked to several people as latest to be linked with it is the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has claimed that the $50million found in a Lagos apartment by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), belongs to the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.

Fani-Kayode, who wrote this on his Twitter page, also dismissed reports that the money belonged to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

He insisted that Amaechi owned the flat where the money was found.

“The $43 million is Rotimi Amaechi’s.He owns the flat it was found in too.NIA story is fake news! NIA does not keep cash in Minister’s flats!” Fani-Kayode tweeted.

Governor Ayodele Fayose’s aide, Olayinka Lere, also claims that the money belongs to the former Rivers State Governor.

“Just hearing with one ear that Amaechi may have link to the House,” Olayinka wrote on Twitter.

“Cover up game has started! Rotimi Amaechi owns the house.”

Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu’azu, has admitted that building where EFCC operatives found the money, was actually built by him.

Mu’azu had initially disowned the Lagos apartments, where the monies were discovered.

However, in a statement released on Thursday, the former Bauchi Governor insisted that he sold the apartments through established agents and does not know who the occupants are.

Meanwhile, The Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi’s media aide, Mr. David Iyofor has replied the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who, in a tweet, alleged that Mr. Amaechi indeed owns both the apartment and the billions of money in both local and foreign currencies found on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Lagos.

Chief Fani-Kayode had in the tweet, said that, “The $43 million is Rotimi Amaechi’s. He owns the flat it was found in too.NIA story is fake news! NIA does not keep cash in Minister’s flats!”

However, Mr. Iyofor, while replying Fani-Kayode, said, “FAKE NEWS. Show us the title documents with Amaechi’s name as the owner or shut up. When normal peeps talk, this one also want to talk. SMH.”

“Someone will just sniff something then comes on Twitter to rant incomprehensible nonsense.

Some fellows really need help, serious help.” He went further to say that, “Lying out rightly to defame someone is not politics but pure madness.

I just hope someone has not stop taking his meds.” Recall that the anti-graft agency, on Wednesday, discovered the sums of $43million, £27,800 pounds and N23 million from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Although a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sums to the Federal Government, nobody has come out yet to claim ownership of the money.
