Ikwere Youths go Irate over Gruesome Murder of Leader

Mayhem was unleashed yesterday, on Ubiama town, Ikwere Local Government  Area of Rivers state, as some group of angry youths under the umbrella of Ikwere Youth Development Association, set ablaze a building of the culprit, allegedly involved in the brutal killing of a youth leader in the Ikwere community,  Douglas Nwokocha.

News Punch, gathered that trouble first started, when the enraged youths, led by the brother of the deceased, Daniel Nwokocha,  went all out, after one Gabriel Omachi, who allegedly sold a parcel of land to Douglas Nwokocha and masterminded his assassination, following an irreconcilable land dispute.

The building burnt down to ashes by the Irate youths, according to source investigation, was owned by  Gabriel Omachi, currently on the run, and who was accused of sending hired assassins to murder Douglas Nwokocha, in a move to reclaim the land he sold to him, five years ago. CurrentNewsNow visited the site of the razed building, where some stream of sympathizers were seen lamenting the death of all the families of the alleged land grabber, Gabriel Omachi, who were set ablaze with the building and their charred remains lying on a portion of the burnt building.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, told News Punch that land grabbing is becoming a norm perpetrated with impunity in the community of Obama, Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State, and he further explained that Gabriel Omachi and his group, were arrowheads in the business of hijacking people's land after it is sold and forcefully reclaiming the lands with thugs.
