Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam has charged parents to make planning for the future of their children a priority.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika, Speaker Salaam stressed that abandoning children to their faith, because of poverty or lack suggests that some parents were only using religion as an alibi to cripple the future of their wards, noting that must have been one of the factors that put the productive bracket of demographic trends into underutilization.
Speaker Salaam further said that the economic challenge has made it difficult for the government to cater for all children in the nation, and the menace of corruption is making the future planning tedious; reiterating that it is now left for individual parent to guide and guard their wards to promising future by dedicating time and attention to their upbringing.
He then felicitate with children in the state of Osun and urged them to listen to the good advice of their parents, saying hardwork and brilliance in school are still the surest way to make life abundance in the future
