As 2019 Presidential election gathers momentum, the declaration of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to wrest power from the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC may pitch him against the agitators of Biafra who have also declared that "it's either 2019 Presidency or BIAFRA"
The Ekiti State Governor, on Friday in Ado-Ekiti, declared himself as the next President of Nigeria.
The governor – a member of the Peoples Democratic Party – boasted that he and his party have the attributes to wrest power from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress in 2019.
Declaring his Presidential ambition in Ado Ekiti, Fayose said he has penchant to taking powers.
“I have a penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand. I will take it. I’m going straight to that (Presidential) Villa. I’m the next President.
“I want to be the next President of Nigeria. My own won’t be this change that has brought nothing, we are going to represent the people well and tell them the truth.”
Recall the same Fayose is a friend of Biafra agitators from the southeast. He has often lent his voice to the secessionist.
Fayose's support for BIAFRA has earned him accolades and admiration from the leaders of the separatist who has recently declared him as Biafra Governor. He, Fayose also has declared Ekiti State as Biafra's in his numerous solidarities to the Igbos.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) declared, few days that the South East will not accept any position less than a president of Igbo extraction in 2019.
They said this is the only solution to Biafra agitation in the zone.
The Igbo group stated this after a meeting in Enugu, yesterday, and added that they have activated all machinery towards actualisation of the project.
A communiqué after the meeting insisted Ndigbo will no longer play second fiddle in Nigeria politics.
The communique, signed by OYC Secretary General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, reiterated that, “it is Igbo president in 2019 or Biafra nation 2020.”
They described as “sheer injustice and hatred, a situation where no Igbo has been allowed to get close to the seat of power for decades whereas, other geo-political zones have been taking turns, either as military or civilian presidents.
No doubts, Fayose's Presidential declaration, if real will definitely break the heart of Biafra agitators who want to rule Nigeria come 2019 of be let have own sovereign nation of BIAFRA.
