Football fans from across the country and different parts of the world are expected to storm Lagos in October, this year, for a historic event tagged the Football Fans Congress.
According to a press release signed by Rev. Samuel Ikpea, the National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, the epochal event which has the theme ; 'Red Card To Deaths On the Mediterranean and Sahara', is aimed at sensitizing the people of the dangers inherent in travelling through the Mediterranean and the Sahara. And using the collective love and passion for football and its followership as a veritable platform.
" It is painful to note that for several decades, millions of people have unwittingly died on the Mediterranean seas and also on the sahara, whilst attempting to cross into Europe.
" Therefore, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, as one of its several impact making programmes, are in collaboration with some partners to bring this problems to the fore, " Ikpea stated.
The event scheduled to hold between 26th - 28th October, 2017, is expected to feature top football personalities including Ronan Evain, the CEO of Football Supporters Europe, as well as renowned past and present footballers.
The event will also feature parades by fans of different club sides, as well as, musical performances by A-list artistes.
