President Muhammadu Buhari's resumption could be temporary as he could be jetted out to the United Kingdom for further check up, the Presidency has revealed just two days after he returned to Nigeria from his medical leave.
The Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, made the revelation on Monday morning’s Sunrise Daily program on Channels TV.
He said the President could travel back to the United Kingdom in order to receive further medical treatment.
The spokesman was asked if Mr. Buhari could return to the UK for medical check-ups as the president had not addressed this in his speech he delivered after returning to Nigeria.
“What Nigerians should hope for is that our president will remain whole,” he said. “But if there is any reason to go out [to the UK], why not? You need to first stay alive so you can lead a country.”
Mr. Adesina expressed hope, however, that “the worst is over.”
The president has drawn criticism for neglecting to address his health challenges in the speech he delivered to Nigerians on Monday morning.
