DON'T BE NEUTRAL--OSUN SPEAKER TASKS ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS

Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam has tasked academics to raise debate on how education system in the country would be rejigged and tailored towards development in all spheres of influence.

Delivering a goodwill message at OAU ALUMNI Quarterly National Executive Meeting in Osogbo, Speaker Salaam challenged the academia and alumni associations coupled with other critical stakeholders in the education sector to take a cursory look at the declining state of education in the country and join the the effort to reverse the ugly trend.

He further explained that higher institutions of learning in the country have not caught up with the technological education which has doubled down with the speed of light; saying no nation could outgrow its educational development.

Speaker Salaam then asked alumni association to debate and deliberate issues of obsolete syllabus, hostile environment and corruption in the country in order to raise national questions out of the issues.

He asserted: "We cannot be neutral in the fallen standard of education, because if our schools produce half baked students, and we live long as we pray for daily, then our nation would soon be contended with half baked leaders which is a self destruct Botton.
