The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Bayelsa State took a messy dimension at the weekend, which resulted in the takeover of the State Secretariat by the Security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services took over the State secretariat.
According to Punch Newspaper, the security take over was informed by the suspension of the state chairman of the party, Tiwei Orunimighe, and two others.
Punch Newspaper said, the National Working Committee of the APC, had on Thursday evening, announced the suspension of Orunimighe; his deputy, Eddy Julius; and the secretary of the party’s chapter in the state, Marlin Danlin, over alleged anti-party activities and gross misconduct.
At the party’s secretariat on Yenagoa-Mbiama Road on Friday, scores of riot policemen and DSS officials had been stationed there.
Some of the executives of the party loyal to a former governor of the state, Timipre Sylva, led by a factional chairman of the party in the state, Joseph Fafi, were at the secretariat.
