Oluwo Gets Royal Encomium From Ile-Ife Ruling House; Says He's Is A Good Custodian of History

Oluwo of Iwoland and Ooni of Ife
The dynasty of Owodo Royal House of Ile-Ife has lauded Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi for the adoption of his family’s ancestral royal title “TELU” as his  traditional acronym, saying his enthronement as the first citizen of Iwo is in honour of TELU, the only male child of Luwo Gbagida.

The commendation was contained in a congratulatory letter sent by the entire sons and daughters of Owodo/Luwo Royal House of the source, Ile-Ife on his ascension to office as Oluwo of Iwoland.

The letter disclosed the crown of Oluwo as an institution from Luwo Gbagida, the only female and 16th Ooni of Ile-Ife who sent his only male child, Adekola Telu out of Ife with crown to establish his own kingdom.

It would be recalled that Oba Akanbi had earlier established his crown as an institution from the dynasty of Luwo Gbagida contrary to the previous distorted account that, Oluwo owes allegiance to Obaloran, A chief in Ile-Ife.

The monarch has, on several occasions discredited the claim of paying tribute to Obaloran as an expensive ignorance of the past, affirming all dynasties of Oduduwa are brothers to Oluwo.

“We congratulate your Highness on your ascension to the throne of your forefathers as the Oluwo of Iwoland. We also appreciate the sense of history that made your Hughness picked the name of your fore-father “Telu” who hailed from this royal family of the source (Ife). May God remember your Highness in all good things of life,” the letter revealed.

According to the letter signed by the Sooko and the Secretary of Owodo Royal House, Ile-Ife, Prof. Adeniyi Adewusi and Prince S.A Adegbola respectively, “Your enthronement to the throne of your fore-fathers is not by accident but by God’s doing who had planned it in honuor of Telu, our son and your royal highness’ source of the highly esteemed crown that your Highness is presently wearing as one of the natural rulers not in Osun State alone but also beyond.”

In his reaction, Oluwo affirmed his royal institution as an unquestionable descendants of Oduduwa as a natural monarch owing allegiance to the institution of Oduduwa and not Obaloran.

The monarch tasked other traditional rulers to establish their historical cradle to empower their existence by been equipped with factual account of their source.
