Ayade Has Fertilized Ground For Opposition With Poor Performance - Ex-Lawmaker

By Inyali Peter,  Calabar

Ben Ayade
Former two times member representing the Obudu/Bekwerra/Obanliku federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Paul Adah has said that Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has fertilized the state ahead of 2019 election for the opposition with his poor performance.

Adah stated this in his country home Obudu when he played host to thousands of supporters and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC over the weekend to mark the annual Obudu New Yam festival.

The former lawmaker who is a member of the APC said that Ayade's poor performance since he assumed office in 2015 will give his party a smooth ride to the government house in 2019.

He regretted that after over years in office, Ayade has little or nothing to show in terms of achievement in any part of the state including Obudu where he comes from.

According to him, "Well, I'm not involved in the government of Cross River State but in Obudu where I'm speaking with you, we have not seen any dividends of democracy and it's the same in other parts of the state. May be, we are expecting, whenever we see any we will let you know but for now, there's nothing.

"Because I have not seen the dividends of democracy in Obudu that means Ayade has indirectly fertilized the ground for APC takeover of Cross River State".

The APC Chieftain however said that "All we in the APC need to do is to remain committed, dot all the 'Ts' around so that  we takeover the leadership of the state by the grace of God in 2019".

Speaking about the significance of the new yam festival, he said that  "We do this annually in appreciation to God almighty because if you look at it carefully, you plant a small piece of yam by February, March,  April and by September when you go to harvest it you will discover that what you will harvest will be bigger than what you planted. So we have reason at every season like this to thank God for this wonderful blessings that he has constantly given us".

The occasion was graced by a former federal legislator representing the Etung/Obubra federal constituency, Hon. Ernest Irek, a member of the Presidential Committee on Electoral Reform, Dr. Francis Bullem, some members of the State executive council, APC chapter chairmen from the Northern Senatorial District of the state and thousands of supporters across the state.
