Ahead of 2018 primaries for PDP aspirants to the National Assembly elections,a former member, kogi state house of assembly, Honourable Simon Atadoga has begun consultations with the critical stakeholders,national assembly members and PDP loyalist from the area on his intention to run for the seat
A statement issued by the media adviser to the former state law maker expressed confidence that the intention to vie for the coveted seat of the federal constituency was borne out of the burning desire of the people and his zeal to serve his immediate constituents
Atadoga stated that his idea of joining the race to the green chamber is with a view to bridging the gap of dearth of qualitative representation,rendering the process of sane law making that have direct bearing on the lives of the people in all ramifications
The former lawmaker expressed confidence that the people of Dekina/Bassa will not renege on their ongoing encouragement,support and emboldened to enable him attract more dividends of democracy in the next dispensation
Honourable Atadoga said his consultations has no bound as youths,traders,market women,students,elites from the area will not be left out of the ongoing exercise to redeem the lost glory of the famous federal constituency
He said his decision to embark on early consultations and sensitisation of his intention is to embrace spirit of sportsmanship,selfless service,determination to serve and abhor needless political crises capable of overheating the polity
The former law maker expressed regrets at the nature of elected representatives both at the state and federal level,saying the need to improve on the current trend to reflect the yearning and aspirations of the people is imperative
He urged all PDP members to cooperate with one another and ensure the spirit of give and take overides the personal interest of individual contestants and aspirants
The position of the PDP in the new dispensation is to address the myriads of problems occasioned by the current change mantra that have brought untold hardship to kogians in particular and nigerians in general through returning power both at the state and federal level to the party
