The member of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha
federal constituency of Benue State, Hon Mrs Dorathy Mato embarked on
a constituency tour of Konshisha and Vandeikya Local Government Areas
on Monday, 13th and Wednessday 15th, November, 2017 respectively.
She made it known in her tour that she is the chief servant of the
people of Jechira but should not be worshiped as their political
leader in the constituency. She said her visit was to appreciate her
constituents for their support and prayers for her and to let them
know that she will start making impact on her constituency as soon as
possible.
The Media Coordinator to Rep. Dorathy Mato and the Managing Editor,
National Times Newspaper, Daniel Ingbar who was at the tour says in
Tse Agberagba, Konshisha LGA, Mrs Mato said she has great respect for
the people of the area as an important axis of Jechira.
Mr. Dennis Agav, speaking for Shangev tiev lauded the unique qualities
of Hon Mrs Mato particularly for coming to Konshisha on her first
outing at the National Assembly to share her first fruit of office to
them and called for support for her while the Senior Special Assistant
on housing to the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, Mr Terwase
Achagh described the gesture as the good work of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), with Elder Iorzua Imbur from Gaav pointing that the
Law court found merit in Mato's case thereby making her their Rep. and
urged her to do good to Jechira as they will support her.
In Vandeikya LGA, Mrs Mato thanked Kunav for their support and
promised to work to transform her constituency which she humbly
represents at the federal level.
The APC Chairman for Vandeikya LGA, Alh. Aseer Ihongo lauded the
grassroots politics of the Rep. member and appealed to kunav to imbibe
the politics of inclusion and focus on a common agenda ahead.
The Zone A youth leader, Mr. Bala Bagu while speaking at the event in
Vandeikya, called for unity among the communities in the zone. He
accused some people of being against the unity of the Kunav people and
stressed that everyone should be united for progress to be achieved
and should not turn against one another including their mother, Hon
Mrs. Mato.
A former Education Officer, Mr. Joseph Yaweh and Arc. David Umah in
their separate speeches called on the people to support the Rep.
member, who is now the shield of Kunav people while the Senior
Legislative Aide to Mrs Mato, Teryila Ugba Alough appreciated Kunav
and his principal for affording him from Konshisha LGA the post and
assured them every opportunity at the National Assembly will come to
the people.
The House of Rep. member was elected as the only opposition member in
the Benue State House of Assembly from Jechira on the platform of the
defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). While she was there, she
made tremendous impact on the people she represented. She is a
political leader who has always put the interest of those she
represents above all others.
Her propensity to good leadership, her solicitous nature towards
others and her probity and accountability have made her to be a
prudent leader who is working towards the transformation of her
constituency.
Together with her Senior Legislative Aide, Teryila, after punctilious
evaluation of the challenges in her constituency; they initiated
series of initiatives that would transform her constituency by taking
development to the grassroots for the desired impact to be made.
The initiatives cover areas such as education, agriculture, health,
community development, infrastructural development, orphans and
vulnerable children, youth empowerment, women empowerment and sports.
Hon Mrs Mato reaffirms her unreserved commitment to transforming her
constituency through the development-driven initiatives and calls on
the good people of her constituency to give her all the support she
needs to make the desired impact.
