The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Ilufemiloye Telu 1 has again stirred another controversy by raining curse on himself in defense prayers for his subjects in Iwoland.
The controversial monarch of who has once declared that he was not a 'deputy to any god' (alasekeji orisa) as Yoruba monarchs are often revered made the curse on behalf of his people in the presence of guests and celebrities at the 2nd edition of Iwo Ankara Day put together by Sekowale Entertainment held at Iwo City Hall, yesterday Wednesday 22nd November 2017.
The Iwo monarch said before he left the stage after his address that all the evil that should fall on Iwo indigenes home and abroad should come on him, he says all ill luck that should go to Iwo indigenes should come to him and all misfortunes intended for Iwo indigenes everywhere should come to him.
He says as a King, he is the spiritual gap between his people and God Almighty, the representative of God on earth so through him, all evil will return unto God who has the wherewithal to dispense of them.
He prayed for immense blessings to go to his people.
“I take all the evil and bad luck unto myself and I bless you to prosper so that I can be proud of you”
Oba Adewale Akanbi, Telu as he is fondly called who has constantly been in the news for one controversial statement or the other since his ascension confidently said at the event yesterday that:
“A king is the last fortress of the people and should focus on tenaciously defending his people, that is what I am doing and that is what I have been simply saying all the while. The people no matter what religion should not be afraid to bring their problems to the King because he is their last stop and hope so I will continue to take your curses and give you blessings.”
