Kogi East: Appeal Court Reverts To Status quo, Orders Retrial To Go On

The appeal court in Abuja has stood down application for lack of jurisdiction for fresh retrial ordered by the Supreme court‎ against Kogi east senator, Atai Aidoko Ali at the federal high court

This is against insinuations from some quarters and ‎public opinion that the appellate court has ordered the substantive senator currently occupying the position to vacate office pending the determination of the suite

The appeal court stated that the decision of the apex court is ultra vires and overides the judgment delivered on the 14th December 2016,sayiong although it lacks power to remove the senator on a case already determined by the Supreme Court

In a judgment delivered by the presiding judge of the appeal court,Justice Aboki led other two judges to drop the idea of lack of jurisdiction earlier brought before the court by Senator Atai Aidoko Ali of kogi east

With this development, the federal high court in Abuja ‎will commence fresh retrial of kogi east senate tussle in January 15th 2018 as it is expected to linger back to the supreme court based on the pendulum of victory at the three levels
