The member of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Mrs Dorothy Mato appeals to wealthy Nigerians to use part of their wealth for philanthropic purposes to elevate Nigerians.
During the thanksgiving and grand reception organized in her honour by elders of Mbangur community, Mbadede, Vandeikya LGA, Benue State, on Sunday 26, 2017; she said the money she makes at the National Assembly belongs to her constituency.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Moses Msughter Ate and many others have acknowledged her for elevating the people of her constituency while she was a member of the Benue State House of Assembly through her enormous contributions to education, health, community development, infrastructural development, youth and women empowerment including orphans and vulnerable children.
She donated 200 bags of cement and N200,000 in support of St. Peter's Catholic church project, Mede.
Rep. Mato says wealthy Nigerians should use their accumulated property to elevate the human race; the wealthy person being a steward or trustee for the human race, should use "his superior wisdom, experience, and ability to administer this wealth as a trust fund for philanthropic purposes and that philanthropists should support projects including educational ones, that would enable those who wanted to help themselves to become more industrious.
She has always appreciated the wife of the Benue State Governor, Dr Eunice Erdoo Ortom, Tony Elumelu, Wale Adenuga, Mike Adenuga, among others for their contribution to elevating the human race.
