The Senate chairman, committee on poverty, Senator Ali Wakili is dead.
The senator was said to have died in the early hours of today, Saturday, in his Abuja residence, report according to Daily Post suggests
However, no statement has so far been released by the family in confirmation of the senator’s death.
Sources in the Senate said the lawmaker slumped on Saturday morning at his Gwarimpa, Abuja residence after which he was taken to a hospital within the estate, but he died before getting emergency treatment.
Wakili, 58, was Chairman of Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation
He was a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
As of the time of filling this report, the details were sketchy.
But a tweet by Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Lagos East has also confirmed the death report of Senator Wakili.
