Senator representing Kogi east at the red chamber, Atai Aidoko Ali has advised the political class not to do anything that will overheat the polity,as democracy remains the best form of governance world over
SDGs committee chairman and PDP senator made this revelation in Abuja to mark this year's democracy day stated that close to two decades of our return to democracy,the country had witnessed steady growth in infrastructure,human and social development inspite of its attendant challenges
Senator Aidoko urged politicians and their followers to do more to protect the democratic system not minding sentiment,sectional and tribal differences,all geared towards liberating the socio-economic and political development of various segments in the society
He urged the people to support the elected representatives at all levels and drop any ideas or insinuations that constituents are not on their priority list, in the area of provision of social and basic amenities,saying no matter the pressure,the electorates remains the rallying point
Aidoko assured the people of kogi east of efforts to ensure basic amenities adored all the nine local government areas in the shortest possible time, to complement the already provided ones,urging the people to take full charge of the facilities
Kogi east senator thanked supporters of the PDP in the area,kogi state and Nigeria for demonstrating glaring maturity in it's new role of opposition party,saying this development will further strengthen the democratic norms in the various facets of our national life
