Galadima: Group Knocks Fasakin, Calls For His Sack

A socio-political pressure group,  the Salvage for Development Initiative,  SDI, has berated former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Rotimi Fasakin, over his scathing remarks against former National Secretary of CPC and National Chairman of the Reformed APC,  Buba Galadima.

In a statement signed and made available to LEADERSHIP by SDI Executive Director, Mr Peter Ajayi,  yesterday,  the group said Fashakin's tirade against Galadima was not unconnected with the latter's insistence that the former should refund monies put in his care for journalists, during his stint as CPC National Publicity Secretary,  which he misappropriated.

Ajayi said,  "It is obvious that Fasakin's recent attack against Galadima, the National Chairman of the rAPC, is nothing but a personal vendetta that he has been waiting for a long time to carry out.

"When Fasakin was the National Publicity Secretary of CPC, he was alleged to have embezzled party funds that had been earmarked for journalists. Galadima, the then National Secretary of the party insisted on the path of integrity and asked that the funds be returned to the coffers of the party.
Fasakin has never forgiven Galadima for this.

"Obviously feeding fat on the present board position recently given to him, he has resorted to cheap blackmail and mudslinging to please his principal, President Muhammad Buhari."
SDI queried how a President supposedly fighting corruption would put a thief and looter in any position, no matter how small and called in the President to relieve Fasakin of his board appointment.

Fasakin had said that Galadima "cannot win election in the polling booth in front of his house in Abuja or his hometown in Yobe.
He had said, "He is an irreverent, self serving and bellicose fellow. As CPC National Secretary, he was riding a brand new car gift (Kia Sorento) given to him by Dr Babangida Aliyu, the then Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governor of Niger State."

He also accused Galadima of trying all he could to frustrate the merger, but unfortunately for him, it was Buhari himself who brought the memo for the merger to CPC BoT.

Fasakin also accused Galadima of guilty of the accusation of manipulation he leveled against the APC,  asking, "How many people's destinies did he use his position as National Secretary of the CPC to manipulate?

"I mean people who won primaries but substituted with other names? He is on his way to political oblivion."

He also accused Galadima of supporting former governor of Kano State, Rafiu Kwankwanso during the APC presidential primary in 2014.
