The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has once again emerged winner of the "Nigerian Political Game of Thrones". He has emerged winner of previous games of thrones as well.
The first was his emergence as the Senate President against the wish of Buhari, Tinubu and their cohorts. The second was winning his case at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), the third was winning his case at the Supreme Court. The fourth was defending himself against the Offa robbery saga and the fifth and the latest is outsmarting security agencies in Tuesday's attempted arrest.
I understand that Saraki has his own flaws as a leader which every leader does including Buhari himself, but he has helped to prevent Buhari and the cabal from making certain things worse for Nigerians.
From the previous games of thrones that had taken place in Buhari's government to the latest one show that Saraki understands how the game of politics is played more than Buhari. They also show that Buhari lacks the political will to ensure peaceful intra-party affairs and lacks the reconciliatory capabilities. He has forgotten that this is a democratic government not a tyrannical one, and we are in 2018 not 1984.
The overall assessment of Buhari's government is a colossal failure because he spent most of his time fighting Saraki and others instead of shielding his sword and making peace to move Nigeria forward.
Buhari calls himself "Mr Integrity" but where is the integrity when he disobeys court orders?
Saraki is the winner of the game of thrones once again. He is a fighter who knows when to use his sword and finish his enemies.
