Rev. King, whose original name is Chukwuemeka Ezeugo is a Christian preacher from Anambra State, South-east Nigeria. He rose to nationwide recognition following the murder of a church member, Ann Uzoh. He was subsequently sentenced to death in January 2007, his conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on 26 February 2016.
Rev. King has since not been killed despite the supreme court judgment
Has Rev. King obtained clemency? Why has he not been convicted after the Supreme Court affirmation? Can an ex-convict vie for a political position in Nigeria? These are many questions begging for answers.
