| Hon. Engr. Setonji David Poses With The Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms yesterday |
There were wild jubilation and celebration among the supporters of Hon. Setonji David, a State Assembly lawmaker representing Badagry constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Setonji, accompanied by some loyalists yesterday purchased both the expression of interest and the nomination forms at the State party secretariat, Acme, Ikeja Lagos State.
Some youths, women, and elders were seen dancing and jubilating at his residence on his return after the purchase of the form.
When asked by Newsproof's reporter who witnessed the scene, why the need for the jubilation, one of the jubilant, Mr. Agosu Sewanu Caleb said their joy know no bound because his purchase of the of the forms signifies expectation of more good governance and delivery of more dividend of democracy within the constituency. Mr. Caleb also said many had taught Honourable Setonji may not buy the form due to the high price tag, but they are now happy that he eventually bought it.
"Honourable Setonji has not disappointed us since he was elected barely over three years ago. His hunger to ensure we feel more impact of good governance is unprecedented. he has rehabilitated many roads, empowered many youths and women. Above all, our constituency now feel more impact of the State Government through his efforts. Ig given opportunity, we will vote and vote and vote him again till 'thy kingdom come'" he said
Meanwhile, Hon. Setonji David has said he will continue to deliver more dividends of democracy and good representation to the people of his constituency.
Addressing the jubilant crowd who had been waiting for him at his residence yesterday said, "let me first and foremost thank God Almighty for keeping the dream alive. My sincere gratitude also goes to the good people of Badagry Constituency II for standing solidly behind me in ensuring that my first term in office has been a successful one. Honestly, my vocabulary stock lacks enough words to express my profound gratitude.
"May I state here that your belief in me and your request for my continuity in the legislative business has further ignited the passion in me to serve you better. It’s based on this I have to sacrifice myself once again to serve. Though legislative business has been a tough one, rest assured I am going to serve you better."
"I have indicated interest to serve you once again under our great party, APC and I have subsequently obtained the nomination form."
"Together, we are going to do it better."
"Thank you all for being there for me."
