OSUN OKADA PROTEST: UNDERSTANDING THE NARRATIVE, By Charles Adeyemi

OSUN OKADA PROTEST
The question of tax is a civic responsibility for societal progress, this is not a new practice anywhere in the world, it's the reason great nations of the world attained feat of greatness and as a state within the Nigerian federation we are getting there.

Yesterday 21st may, some okada riders protest an alleged due increment, I first thought it must have been a communication gap between the union leaders and their members BECAUSE to the best of my knowledge the leaders approach government on the need to unify their mode of due collection with government due hence the #200 levy which when paid no one will stop bikemen again for the day as against the usually practice of paying at every other junction, this is the narrative I know and understand until the leaders of the union, ACCOMORAN, MUTUM & ANAKOWA made public statement to discredit the protesters as not belonging to any association, not register to any association and are probably been used, much as I don't totally agree with that line of defense, I also believe efforts is on going to see to it that mutual understanding exist between the union members, leaders and government.

The villain in this matter is the opposition party, who bereft of information jump into the lagoon of confusion, transmitting confusion to their innocent members and readers especially the PDP chairman. We shall continue to educate them when necessary on what opposition politics is about.
