Few days ago, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed Mr Peter Ajayi, who was the Personal Assistant to the Director General of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organization Independent Campaign Group (BOSCO ICG), Mr Tayo Ayinde, during electioneering, as his Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.
PROFILE OF MR. PETER AJAYI, THE NEWLY APPOINTED SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO GOV. BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU
As obtained from Western Post, Mr. Ajayi, who had his NCE from Kwara State College of Education in 1997, also holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism from the Lagos State University in 2004.
In his quest for more knowledge, Ajayi went further to obtain his Master’s Degree in Journalism from Lagos State University in 2006.
Ajayi was the Publisher of The View Magazine before his appointment.
He is a Public Affairs Expert, Communication Strategist, grassroot politician and a versatile journalist.
Ajayi in 2011 was appointed Supervisor For Revenue Generation in Ejigbo Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) when the immediate past Commissioner For Information, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, was the Executive Chairman of the LCDA. He was able to increase the revenue base of the council from N14million to N48million yearly.
Before now, Ajayi had aspired for the post of Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA twice under the political platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajayi was formerly the Director of Salvage For Development Initiative (SDI), an NGO that specializes in initiation of development ideas for public institutions.
He is expected to bring to the table his wealth of experience in political management, strategic communications and public relations.
His appointment takes immediate effect.
However, there had been jubilation over his appointment everywhere especially in Ikeja, which is the seat of power and Ejigbo LCDA being his political base for having a trusted and competent hand, someone who has worked tirelessly to ensure victory for the party at all levels.
This has given hope to those that participated very actively in the campaign that no one would be left behind. It also shows that the new governor recognises hard work and his determination to put round pegs in round holes
