At the heart of People Democratic Party (PDP) dysfunctionality in Yakurr Chairmanship Race -call it a crisis -is a brawling fight to impose a Chairman. Available information concerning this crisis of interest, and why Gov Ayade is sought after to endorse a choice for the Party is the non-acceptance on a consensus candidate by two Commissioners in different camps.
Hon. Commissioner Goddy Eta preferably candidate is Mr Bassey Matthew Fidelis, while Hon. Commissioner John Inyang wants Dr. Nelson Obono. Both guys are willing to be political stooges, they aren't individuals of independent minds, and for their willingness to be use, we must not only question -of what good interest are they to Yakurr or ask why now, at what expense? But on the grounds of their acceptance to be used against the interest of Yakurr, we must reject them. We must reject any forceful encumbrances not built on the will of the people.
While a third contender in the person of Mr Ofem Nabras is in sight, Gov Ayade has asked his PDP to look for a candidate that can match the widely acknowledged candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who emerged strongly unopposed at the party primary January 18th, 2020. He is known across the state, not just in Yakurr, as an advocate of good governance, a crusader of the people against government non-transparency and illegalities. A man nicknamed the Taliban for his abilities and capacity to project information on events happening in the state.
It is on record for the first time in APC Cross River State politics, without any infighting for there to emerge a consensus independent minded candidate standing election. Chief Ifere is an acceptable candidate to all, many in the opposition prefer him secretly, he is highly a qualified material. It is no surprising Ayade made a considerable passive endorsement of him. Owning to Ayade's recognition of emerging realities on ground in Yakurr, and to Ayade's wisdom of knowing a good product, he has rejected the contending candidates of the PDP as not good matches to Chief Ifere.
"Put the three PDP Candidates jumping all over the place in Yakurr LGA and you'll find that they are not a match for Chief Ifere."
"Mould the three of them into one personality, they will still not defeat Paul Ifere. Go and get me someone else." ~His Excellency Governor Ben Ayade.
Forward looking for Yakurr, should we be very serious about unleashing our growth, developmenting our local content and paving a way for progress as free thinkers, then, we must reject interference thereof or any imposition of agendas through supposed godfathers projecting candidates. We must reject stogies floated by Yakurr PDP. We must only accept individuals who stand on their own rights and merits as duly projected by the collective will of the people. And in this current election, stand by the APC candidate in the person of Chief Ifere for Chairman Yakurr LG who is not imposed. He remains a personality that can not be a stogie of anyone when elected.
We must take Ayade's words as expressed publicly that in Cross River State "we don't know PARTY BARRIERS, we have relationships and our relationships is perfect. We do TRANSBOUNDARY POLITICS"
...In the interest of "transboundary politics", a competent hand in the affairs of Yakurr Area Council and a rejection of imposition and godfatherism in Yakurr Politics is what we need.
I urge you all to forget party sentiments, support and vote Ifere Paul Chairman Yakurr LG Area.
Chief Ifere Paul As His Own Man, The Crisis In Yakurr PDP, And Why Rejection Of Political Stooges, Imposition & Godfatherism Is A Necessity.
