Although the world as we know it has paused to focus on the menacing pandemic (COVID-19), your impact is still felt in our economy daily. Such is the case with senior and essential service providers amongst you. Somehow, you have kept us moving. You have defied logic and stood firm in the face of this challenge to ensure the system does not succumb to collapse.
You are priceless and your sacrifices are weighty to us. Therefore, on this beautiful day of yours, May Day, I beseech you to remain resolute and keep faith in the system and the ultimate promise that together, we will beat this virus. Those whose directive is to stay at home should continue to do so as we couldn't have asked for more. And those who are expected to keep the system going, what a sacrifice you are making ! You are highly appreciated.
May I use this opportunity to spare a thought for our health workers - the ones at the frontline of this war, striving to keep the rest of us safe. Who could have thought our health workers would literally be playing 'soldiers' in a life-threatening battle as this one? As we go about our indoor routines, let us spare a prayer for these wonderful soldiers. I pray that God Almighty help us conquer this crisis faster and in a safer way than we could have ever imagined.
Please, continue to stay safe in your homes and practise proper hygiene at all times. Wash or sanitize your hands regularly and clean all high-contact surfaces as often as you can. At times like this, one can never be too careful.
