An emerging report according to Punch Newspaper suggest that Kwara United in Ilorin, Nigeria has signed a Brazilian winger, Lucas Ribeiro Alves
Alves joined the Afonja boys from Corinthians. He will be unveiled soon, the report says.
Alves is the second high-profile signing to join the Afonja Warriors, ahead of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League, following the arrival of former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dele Ayenugba from Israeli side Hapoel Afula.
Alves, who can also function as a midfielder, had a stint in the US cut short following the outbreak of COVID-19 in March.
The 25-year-old is hoping to play a big role in Kwara United’s campaign next season, but admits the NPFL is a new challenge.
