LASU holds first virtual matriculation for over 7000 new intakes

Lagos state university  2019/2020 Matriculation ceremony took place today 14th of October 2020 at the university main campus Ojo. 

This is the first time the school is holding a virtual Matriculation, where the larger number of the students watched the ceremony online. The newly admitted student are 7,968 in number. The vice chancellor urged the students to comply to the school rule to avoid untimely graduation. 

In the address of Dr. Aminu Olumoko the Dean of student affairs, he said the university is ready to provide the necessary tools for them so the students also have to play their part, he also said the students have to be committed to their Studies, comply to all the school rules in the student hand book. 

He, however urged the students not to be involved in any activity that will distract them from their academics. 

"You should make sure you show respect to your lecturers and colleague. Reminding then that the oath the swore today is to comply to all the school rules and anyone that goes against it will definitely be sanctioned." 

Mrs. Tope Unkem Adeyiga the motivational speaker who spoke on the topic titled "Attaining relevance through academic excellence", told the students to have positive mindsets which will give them better results, the students should set personal goals, put in the required actions towards their education and try as much as possible to get extra knowledge apart from what they are being taught in the classroom. 

She further said the students should avoid time wasting activities, and mind their business and devoid joining any bandwagon. 

In the speech of the Vice chancellor Pro. Lanre Fagbohun, he congratulate the students, that 21,626 students applied for admission to LASU but is only 7,968 were given admission. He urged the students to try their best in their academic pursuits and also contribute positively to the school. Right now this university is one of the best in Nigeria, what are you going to contribute to the university to improve her status?

In conclusion, he pleaded with the students to comply with the school rules in the student hand book to avoid untimely graduation.
