How to link your NIN number to your phone numbers with ease

Following the directective of the Federal Government of Nigeria to all telephone subscribers to link their phone number with the National Identity Number, NIN, here are simple step to link your NIN to your phone numbers. 

For those who have registered for the National Identity Number, NIN, dial *346# on your registered phone number with NIN to retrieve your NIN. 

MTN Users

1. Dial *785# using the MTN you wish to perform the linking on.

2. Select 1 which stands for “Enter your 11-digit NIN”

3. Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the network to give a confirmation of your submission. You may get a message saying “Network error.”

Don’t panic if you do! Just wait for some time and try it again.

Airtel Users

1. Dial *121*1# on the Airtel line you wish to link.

2. Type 1 for “NIN Capture” and send

Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the message confirming your submission. If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again.

GLO Users:

Send "Update NIN, NIN, FirstName, LastName" to 109

e.g. UpdateNIN 12345678901 Peter Dansu
