Comrade Akanbi Saheed Afonja, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Youth Development has urged youth in the state to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC by actively participating in the forthcoming membership registration exercise of the party.
The APC is billed to commence membership registration nationwide from 25th January 2021.
Afonja in a press statement released earlier today, 20th January 2021 urged the youths in Lagos State to massively join the APC. This, he said would support the governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whom he described as "youth friendly governor"
"No country becomes democratically strong, without very strong institutions, one of which is the political parties."
"It is base on this premise that, I implore and encourage all Lagosians most especially the youth, to come all out for the membership registration of our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC)."
"I encourage you to join the progressive train in order to continue supporting our youth friendly Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu 's administration and vision #ForAGreaterLagos."
The SSA to the Lagos Governor on Youth Development also seized the opportunity to remind Lagosians, especially the youth on the need to observe and adhere strictly to all experts advice to curb the ravaging dreaded pandemic of Covid-19. He reminded Lagosians that defeating the coronavirus is not just a top priority of the government alone, but also should be a top priority to all residents of the state.
Hi said ; "We must also continue to remind ourselves that Covid19 is real. We must understand that defeating the pandemic is crucial to the attainments of the numerous developmental strides we expect from our government."
"Let us all act like the proverbial bird that said "since human has learned to shoot without missing, he has also learned to fly without perching". "
" Since this virus keeps lingering, we must be intentional in defeating it, by adhering strictly to all the safety procedures."
" Covid19 is a common enemy. We will defeat the dreaded virus and rise from it in all ramifications afterwards, " the statement concluded.
