Covid-19 is REAL, the 2nd wave deadlier - Samola says, takes sensitization to APC members

Against the backdrop of some residents' wrong perception of the coronavirus, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde, the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area of Lagos State has once again reiterated that the dreaded global pandemic, the Covid-19 is real. He added that the second wave of the pandemic is deadlier considering its rapid spread across the nation. 

The Council Chairman made the declaration at the All Progressives Congress Party, APC LGA party Secretariat at Iyana Iledu, Araromi-ale, Olorunda, Lagos State yesterday, 30th January 2021, during the party's general meeting held for the sensitization of the membership registration exercise of the party. 

Samola, as he is fondly called by his supporters urged all members of the party to be wary of the second wave of the virus, thereby urging them to religiously follow the health protocol given by experts in the fight against the pandemic. 

"Do not listen to people who tell you that the coronavirus is not real. The pandemic if real, in fact, it's here in Olorunda. Presently, there is a case of the virus in Ilado Primary Healthcare Centre, and that is more reason we have closed that center for further investigation and fumigation of the PHC."

"Let's not be deceived, if we don't observe all the health protocols laid down to curb the further spread of the infectious disease, the Federal Government might be force to impose another lock down. This you know will bring about more hardship. To avoid this, let always be on our facemasks, maintain social distance, regular hand washing, use of sanitizer and avoid large crowd." With these, we will eliminate the virus and live our normal life again."

"Please, as a party members, take this gospel to your neighbors at home, as we all know, health is wealth," he stated.

The Council Chairman also urged party members to mobilize one another for the oncoming registration of APC members billed to begin by February. He said the numerical strength of the members in our various units, zones, ward and local government would transform to better and adequate provisions of party benefits, which will as well birth continued control of the Country by the ruling party. 

At the meeting which was led by the caretaker committee Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Adeniyi Balogun was at the instance of the sensitization of the party members for the forthcoming party membership registration. 

The LGA committee Chairman, Adeniyi Balogun enjoined all members to mobilize one another in various polling unit for the exercise. He said no party member willing to register will be disenfranchised. 

The meeting was also used to officially accept some topnotch of the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party who switched to the APC.
