SIXTEEN YEARS OF PDP IS A WASTE - Group blast Okowa, Latimor

By Godwin Obire & Ode Williams

The Chieftain of the All Progress Congress APC,  Olorogun. Godwin Obire (JP) , a Chairman Concerned Nigerians For Better Nigeria (CNBN), has urged Nigerians to reject the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, saying the party has nothing to offer the country particularly Delta State

Speaking with journalists at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ikeja, while responding to a publication titled "APC DISAPPOINTED NIGERIANS" by Fred Latimore, executive assistant communication to the Delta State governor. Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, where Latimore boosted that PDP Delta will win  governorship election come 2023. In reaction,
Obire said the PDP lacked the vision to govern the country.

He noted that the 16 years of PDP in power was a waste as they did little or nothing to improve the life of Nigerians which Fred Latimore is aware of.

Obire said, Fred Latimore is also aware that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had put the country on the path of progress in the last few years, and would achieve much more in 2023.

He said, "Nigerians should reject the PDP in 2023; they have nothing to offer. They were in power for 16years and they achieved nothing.

“in fact the few years of the APC administration are better than the years of PDP in power. It was 16 wasted years. PDP is a failure, they should be rejected,” he said.

Obire said, one particular step that pointed to what he called the ineptitude of the PDP was the way they privatised the power sector.

Obire alleged that the PDP sold power assets to friends and fronts all in the name of privatisation.

He said the hangover of the problem was still with the country till date.

Obire said electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) foisted on the country had done little to add value to the power sector, and Nigeria would be better with replacements.

Obire said DSP Ovie Omoagege has acquitted himself remarkably well as senator representing Delta Central.

He said Ovie Omo Agege emergence in the primaries of APC to represent the zone again in 2019 reflected the confidence party men and the people had in him.

Obire said Fred latimore is blind to the truth that Ovie Omo Agege had organised many empowerment programmes and executed many projects that had touched the lives of Deltans.

He listed some of the constituency projects of Dsp Ovie Omo Agege as

Obire said "Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence".

He said the list of Ovie Omo Agege executed constituency projects is endless. Deltans are lucky to have a character like "DSP" which is inline with democratic principles that is Obtainable in civilized society not people like Okowayo who brought in former Senate President to commissioned uncompleted Direct Labour Agency (DLA) road in Asaba trying to deceive our people but end up messing up himself and is administration.

Ovie Omo-Agege actions has create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. He is an excellent leader".

Obire said "what DSP Ovie Omo Agege did not get the opportunity to do through the Government House, Asaba as a Governor in Delta State, Omo agege has achieved much more through the National Assembly.

At the Senate,  Ovie Omo Agege appointments, empowerment, legislative activities went beyond Urhoboland and even Delta State. The market women he empowered in the eight local government areas of his senatorial district were not all Urhobos. Ethnicity was not a criterion for his populist goodwill.

When he was elected the Deputy President of the Senate by his colleagues in a keenly contested leadership election in 2019, the symbolism of that victory as a unifying force in Delta State transcended his ethnic group, district, State, geo-political zone, religion and other primordial cleavages. Aniomas, Yorubas, Igbos, Hausas, ijaws, among others, are all part of his team that is working assiduously in different ways to move Delta State and Nigeria forward. His ethnicity, religion, gender or even political affiliations have not tainted his broad minded cosmopolitan make up.

This is not hidden to anyone apart from those like "Fred Latimore and PDP economic vampires" who may have personal axe to grind with this brilliant lawyer. Parents, especially women will not fail to acknowledge Ovie Omo Agege who fought to see that a law against sexual violators of students in tertiary institutions was passed. Association of non-indigenes recently passed a vote of confidence based on his treatment to them in Delta State.

if Omo-Agege rises to take a shot at the governorship of the oil rich Delta State come 2023, Fred Latimore know that victory is 100% he said:
