In bid to end illegal and multiple taxation across all roads in Nigeria, the Federal Government and the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON through their partners will on Tuesday 24th November 2023 launch the National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme(NAMTAXS).
The CEO of ATD Global Security Services Ltd, a lead consultant and partner of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Ambassador Olakunle Johnson disclosed this in a chat with newsmen at his office in Lagos on Saturday.
According to Ambassador Olakunle, the Police College ground, Ikeja remains the venue of the flag off. The security expert stated further that given the commitment of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in 154 local governments across Southwest, all is now set for the epoch making event, which is the pilot take off the national program.
“Our major partner, MIKANO International Limited will be on ground on 24th of November 2021, the approved date for NAMTAXS flag off, so also major high flyers in the haulage industry like Dangote, BUA, Nestle Nigeria Plc, Coca Cola bottling company and others will be in attendance
“We shall also have representatives of the following associations, whose daily activities is closely linked to NAMTAXS scope of coverage: they are; National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF),Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN),Association of Registered Freight Forwarders Nigeria (AREFFN).
“Others are, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA ), National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Agents(NCMDLCA),National Association of Freight Forwarders and Air Consolidators(NAFFAC), National Association of Truck Owners (NATO) and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
“Aside the dignitaries and headship of security agencies duly invited for the launch, the frontline players in the transportation sector like, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employer Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), will also be on ground.“ Olakunle said.
