Just like Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” we all need to work at peace so that it can be a catalyst to transform our communities for the common good. Without it, retrogression will prevail over progression.
The abnegation of violence will bring peace which saturates our minds with the energy that comes when peace blossoms beyond our imagination.
Our leaders have significant roles to play in peace advocacy. As leaders, they have the responsibility to promote togetherness and ensure that acrimonious activities are strongly discouraged irrespective of religious, political or socio-economic background.
Those with leadership acumen should always be beacons of love, peace and unity and should always foreshadow any impending danger that can truncate the fragile peace that exist within us.
As Torkwase U Ben (Queen of Peace), I will continue to promote peace in Benue State and beyond through various platforms that will be at my disposal. I admonish everyone in this "peace project" to promote peace with alacrity and form a formidable force against the forces of darkness which breeds violence in our communities.
We should give approbation to those who have made potent impact in ensuring that peace prevail in our communities.
May we all continue to pray and work for peace in our beloved Benue State and Nigeria as we look forward for the transformation of our land.
