Last political appointment held was Special Adviser on Special Duties to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, before resigning in April 2022. Mallam Yinka Ahmed Aluko, popularly called ‘Major’ for his relentless efforts in managing insecurity and restoring peace during Bukola Saraki-led administration when he held sway as Special Adviser on Security would after pledging their unalloyed support, honour the call by a Kwara Central political group, APC Patriots, to contest as a representative of the District in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The APC Patriots who converged on Pake LGEA Primary School, Ilorin, in late January 2022, unanimously endorsed Aluko on ground of competence and ability to ensure robust representation. A statement jointly signed on behalf of their members by the group’s president, Alhaji Olateju Babatunde and the secretary, Mallam Abdulrauf Babatunde Akata stated that “Our decision was premised on the antecedents of Yinka Aluko and proven ability to deliver on his previously held political positions.”

Yinka Aluko’s Antecedent:

Initially engaged in Kwara State as Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs and reappointed as the State’s Special Adviser on Security at the height of intermittent cult clash, widespread hooliganism and social unrest, Yinka Aluko effected the following measures, including other laudable initiatives toward ensuring a safer Kwara:

• Convened series of meetings, mediating between rival cult groups while appealing to them all on the imperative of embracing the cherished vision of a peaceful Kwara for all.

• Facilitated the setting up of police post/station in every Kwara interior.

• Ensured that Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, experienced unprecedented security – a stride achieved across tertiary institutions in the State.

• Conducted numerous peace advocacy and enlightenment programmes in Kwara, among other security related projects executed while in office.

Mallam Yinka ‘Major’ Aluko entered office promising to restore peace amid increasing unrest in Kwara and delivered. Aluko has for more than two decades played an instrumental role in advancing the cause of a livable, peaceful Kwara responsible for attracting investors into the State of Harmony. As a security expert, he was actively involved in proposing policy solutions and monitoring legal and policy framework around security in Kwara State to ensure people’s safety.

Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency 2023:

Major is running on the horseback of his credentials of public service laced with intellectual acuity, rare tact, administrative acumen and proven record of credibility to deliver on the job as the Nigerian 2023 election approaches. With massive support by delegates during the recently concluded governing party APC primary election, Aluko emerged as the party’s flagbearer to represent the industrious, hospitable people of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.

A grassroots mobilizer who never lose touch with the locale and earnestly strive to advance the wellbeing of Kwarans is on the ballot in 2023 to make his lofty visions manifest for the noble people of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Kwara State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
