By Abubakar Yusuf

Hundreds of Kogi Pilgrims among many others from states of Nigeria scrambled to touch SDP governorship candidate poster with fervent prayers to win the forthcoming Kogi Governorship election coming up in November this year.

Eye witness expressed shock at the sighting of the poster of the leading governorship candidate of SDP in Kogi , praying for a violent free and peaceful election against the plans of the ruling APC government in the state.

The custodian of the poster who craved for anonymity said Pilgrims from Kogi and other neighboring states have joined both secret and open prayers for a change of government to the popular SDP candidate in Kogi state.

The single poster was strategically held at every holy sight praying to Almighty God and His prophets in the holy land for a change government from APC led administration that had impoverished the citizenry to the highly favoured SDP candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.

Investigation revealed that some state sponsored pilgrims from Kogi state were seen praying openly against the return of APC led government in the state , describing it as a third term agenda, worst than the previous experiences in the last eight years.

The SDP candidate has escaped assassination attempt with some of his convoy vehicle raised and the incidence twisted to favour the state government who feigned attack from the main opposition party in the state.

Opinion poll has predicted a landslide victory for the SDP candidate and appealed to the federal government and security agencies to ensure a free, fair and credible elections against the planned violence, stating that military personnel should be deployed to monitor a peaceful election in November this year.

The opposition parties and CSO's had protested on the continuous presence of INEC officials at all levels, who had worked for over a decade in the state, saying they should be massive redeployment to ensure a partial ground for the election in November.

They accused the INEC officials in Kogi as very corrupt from top to bottom and playing to the gallery of Kogi state government, stating that INEC activities in Kogi come November should be insulated from Kogi government.
