The Ag. Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service, (BIRS), Mr. Emmanuel Agema has reaffirmed his support for the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
He made this reaffirmation on Friday, July 7th, 2023 at the Thanksgiving Mass and Grand Reception organized by Kunav United Development Association (KUDA) in honour of Gov. Alia.
Mr. Agema while interacting with Journalists said he is extremely grateful for Gov. Alia finding him worthy to be appointed Acting BIRS Chairman. He said Alia believes in good governance and is bringing in those who have the wherewithal and prowess in various areas of human capital development and capital development so that Benue State can be propelled to unprecedented heights since it has been in a deplorable situation for so long and needs redemption.
"Gov. Alia is a man who has the tenacity to turn things around for the benefit of all. He is a selfless leader who sees the interest of the masses above personal interest. He has come onboard as the Executive Governor of Benue State not for jokes but serious business of delivering Benue people from the bondage of underdevelopment and excruciating pains orchestrated by the past administration as a result of its abysmal and amorphous government.
"I am appealing to the good people of Benue State to remain steadfast in their faith in Gov. Alia. The challenges Benue people are facing are numerous but not surmountable and he is working relentlessly to ensure that he put smiles on the faces of all", he said.
He also commended former member of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Dorathy Mato for her potent impact on APC in Jechira and beyond and prayed God to continue to give her the strength to do more for the good of the people.
BIRS Transport Officer, Pastor Abel Yanmar Ugbir in his complimentary speech commended Gov. Alia for the progressive steps he has taken so far to reposition Benue State for the common good.
He expressed confidence in the Ag. BIRS Chairman, Mr. Agema to improve on revenue generation in the state for adequate funds to be available to enhance the development drive of Gov. Alia.
