The Ag. Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service Mr. Emmanuel Agema, the Board Secretary,Mr Joseph Asase and some members of Staff of BIRS, today, visited the Pure Biotech Company LTD located at Bezu Village Angbaaye, Makurdi Benue.
The Chairman, who visited to ascertain the level of tax payment of the biotech company met a resistance from members of staff and security personnels but were later given access into the company.
The Pure Biotech company limited is a processing Company that produces ethanol, carbon dioxide and fertilizer through cassava in large quantities which ought to contribute massively to the Internal Revenue of the state.
Mr.Agema spoke on important taxes which the company ought to pay, the Pay As You Earn and 5% tax on supplies. The Chairman requested for the Company's Tax Report to know its Tax history.
Responding, was the Human Relations Officer of Pure Biotech Company LTD Mr. Mohammed Abdulkad and Emmanuel Andokari, the Human Resources Manager who could not give Satisfactory information needed but requested the Chairman Allows the company bring the report to the headquarters.
The Ag. Chairman, therefore, directed the company to provide a comprehensive audit to ascertain their level of compliance as relating to payment of Tax from the inception of the company till date.
