Pastor Abel Yanmar Ugbir: One Amongst The Earliest Forerunners Of The Campaign
Thomas Jefferson who was the 3rd President of the United States once said that: "those who support people with integrity and pedigree to govern the state, deserve to be honoured for their refusal to be compromised in the facing of enormous challenges."
It is no longer news that His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is the Governor of Benue State today but a reality that has come to stay.
This historic victory forged through thick and thin strategic, meritorious and vigorous campaigns covering all the 23 local government areas of the state was such as never seen before in the history of Benue State politics. The overwhelming acceptance of Fr. Alia's candidature and eventual election on March 18th, 2023 remains an enigma and shows that God has truly sent to us a Moses of our time that would take us out of the torturous and tormenting land of Egypt to the promise land which is the new emerging Benue State.
It has become necessary, important and interesting to note that at the onset of what we are celebrating today were men who began the propagation of this project, one amongst such earliest forerunners was Pastor Abel Yanmar Ugbir, younger brother to His Excellency from Mbangur kindred of Mbadede council ward. As far back as early in the year 2021, Pastor Abel had began public propagation of Fr. Alia's governorship project on his social media handles and gatherings, many at that time saw it as a mere joke and mission impossible since Fr. Alia himself hadn't publicly declared his intention to run for gubernatorial election yet, but Pastor Abel kept on updating and assuring that Fr. Alia was coming to save the State. What was once laughed at and taken as mere joke and illusion soon began to gather momentum and became clear that really, Fr. Alia was the rave of the moment and those who wrote the Rev. Gentlemen off at the onset realized that he was the place to be and the man to be with and was certainly going to become the next Governor of the state thereby validating and queuing in the earlier perception of Pastor Abel's propagation Rev. Gentlemen as the next governor of the State.
Indeed, Pastor Abel deserves commendation and an opportunity in the new administration to enable him showcase his desire and yearnings for a new Benue. This he can do as he demonstrated during the rigorous campaign activities with His Excellency through tireless efforts of working to revive, resuscitate, rejuvenate and revamp the dreams of our founding fathers.
As a person, Pastor Abel is highly articulate and intelligent, versatile in ideas, a great organizer and manager of both human and reources, a unifier of men and an aggressive achiever.
As a Computer Scientist and Senior Program Analyst at BIRS and with Proficiency Certificates in Humanitarian Assistance and Emergencies, Intelligence, Security and Disaster Management, Law, Human Rights and Constitutionalism amongst others, Pastor Abel can competently serve under the administration of His Excellency in any of his areas of specialties as elaborated above.
He is correctly the Transport Officer of Benue State Revenue Service (BIRS), Benue State and has been very effective in service delivery for the good people of Benue State.
He has been very supportive to the Acting Chairman of BIRS, Mr. Emmanuel Agema who is determined to restructure BIRS on the trajectory that can improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state for Gov. Alia to utilize if for the development of the state.
