Adamawa: Group Faults NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau Of Unilateral Decision

A group , Alliance for Justice in Nigeria has raised alarm over the hurriedly planned disciplinary action against the suspended Resident Electoral  Commissioner REC for Adamawa State, Barrister Yunusa Hud ooou Ari by the Nigerian Bar Association NBA President,  under the leadership of Barrister Yusuleadershipf Chonoko Maikyau. 

In a open letter done to the  of NBA, and jointly signed by the President, Dr Tizhe Tumba Joseph and the Secretary- General , Ibrahim Buba Tojoli and released on Monday , the group described as unilateral , the decision to arraign the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee(LPDC).

The CSO described the impending decisions of the top echelon of NBA led by Maikyau as a glaring injustice,and unfair treatment to him or any other persons involved in such situations over that was been protected by the body over the decades.

He further described as prejudicial for an issue that is still before the court , a culprit was already been convicted, which negates the ethic of the profession he is chairing.

The body reminded the NBA President against the tribunal sitting, evidences in court, and the decision of the REC to declare Aishatu Binani of APC winner in the unfolding drama in the last Adamawa election.

The group is advising the leadership of NBA to refrain from any counter productive action that negated the due process of the law, and the rule of law, and or administration of justice in line with the popular saying and countenance of Nigerians.

It will be therefore be exemplary to sheath your sword pending the determination of the suite in the law courts , stating that any counter decisions will attract the wrath of the people, and not inline with the expectations of Nigerians.

They advised the NBA to allow due process of law to ran it's full course, stating that Nigerians are eagerly waiting for the legal pronouncement on the last Adamawa election.
